The Organizers
Corrina Demma and Amy Abeln are friends, mothers, Chicago-based educators, organizers, and community builders dedicated to learning as a force for liberation. Corrina is a coalition builder and fierce over-communicator whose work bridges classrooms, gardens, and grassroots campaigns. She has spent over fifteen years designing inspired programs, from anti-racist curriculum at the Chicago Workers Circle to mobilizing a 20-organization coalition for voter education and engagement at Vote Chicago School Board. When she isn’t building or connecting, she’s in the garden or reading a delightfully smutty book.
Amy is a writer and educator whose projects, including her blog Mocktail Hour with Amy Abeln andThe Universal Church of Joy, explore personal memory, political imagination, and collective care. As a Learning Strategist, she helps people and organizations design spaces where curiosity leads to transformation.
Rooted in Chicago, driven by care, and committed to the belief that learning and community can change everything, they bring experience in teaching, storytelling, and civic engagement to every space they co-create.
